Assistant Director Terminal Appearance

Position must direct and oversee the day-to-day cleaning operation of GCT, specifically related to its overall cleanliness and appearance. This work includes overseeing GCT Terminal Appearance programs, managing uniformed cleaning personnel and coordinating adequate communication between all MNR departments and contractors regarding GCT cleanliness and appearance issues. Develop and implement new and improved cleaning programs that are designed to improve the overall cleanliness throughout GCT and include an employee training and qualification segment that focuses on improving employee skills, competencies, productivity and morale. Work closely with members of the GCT Terminal Appearance Team to ensure the complete design, analysis and implementation of employee work schedules that are designed to cover all core cleaning responsibilities, as well as both planned and unplanned cleaning needs throughout Grand Central Terminal. This work includes creating flexible assigned cleaning responsibilities that will provide a maximum work force needed to complete all tasks, while at the same time minimalizing the need for overtime coverage. Position is the designated liaison and must coordinate our GCT Terminal Appearance work force in support of all planned/unplanned public events held in GCT. This work also focuses on various quality of life issues throughout the Terminal and includes meeting and coordinating efforts with various MNR Departments and outside agencies such as the MTA PD, MTA Operations Analysis Group, MTA Real Estate, GCT Retail Managing Agent, and the Bowery Resident's Committee (BRC) just to name a few. Assist the Director GCT Customer Services regarding the customer service impacts resulting from the MTA Capital Construction East Side Access project in Grand Central Terminal, mitigating impacts to customers, and establishing contingency and terminal cleaning and appearance plans as necessary. Responsibilities also include working as a liaison with the Grand Central Terminal Station Master's Office and is required to provide managerial coverage and support for the GCT Station Masters Office when required. Manage the operating budget for the Terminal Appearance Team. Implement cost control procedures for overtime management, attendance control, payroll approval and procurement oversight. Oversee your Management Team's training and development to help improve their overall administrative and employee management skill-base, competencies, productivity, and morale. Required Qualifications Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to foster teamwork and motivate employees. Must have proven written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be organized and detail oriented with the ability to negotiate and manage conflicting issues to resolution. Must have prior knowledge and/or the ability to learn MNR and industry standard safety policies and procedures. Demonstrated project management skills that focus on coordinating with various departments and staff to complete projects on time and within budget constraints. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, (i.e. Word, Excel, Access) and/or comparable applications. Ability to strategically view customer experience needs, concerns, and execute broad programs to address these issues. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and complex projects in a fast-paced and changing environment. Demonstrated ability to develop and monitor employee work schedules and job performance as well as performing data analysis and reporting. Ability to work all shifts on a 24/7 basis, with the possibility for mandated staffing and coverage, emergency call-in and response, and deployment to anywhere within the MNR operating area. This includes nights, weekends, and holidays in all weather conditions. Must have a valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Public Address Systems, Visual Information Systems and with Railroad Operations. Familiarity with MNR Safety Rules. Familiarity with all departments working within Grand Central Terminal with emphasis on M of E, M of W, Transportation and Stations Department. General knowledge of train service operations. Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements and/or experience managing a diverse unionized work force. Required Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Facility Management, Business, Planning, Accounting, Transportation or another related field. Demonstrated equivalent experience, education and/or technical skills to include four (4) additional years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum of (5) five years of progressive leadership experience in an increasingly complex facility, hospitality, retail and / or transportation station/facility management. Minimum of (3) three years of experience in managing and developing management personnel. Other Information This is a safety sensitive position and subject to toxicology testing. As an employee of Metro-North Railroad you may be required to complete a New York State financial disclosure statement, if you earn more than $101,379.00 or if you hold a position designated as a policy maker. Employees driving company vehicles must complete defensive driver training once every three years for current MNR drivers; or within 180 days of hire or transfer for an employee entering an authorized driving position.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
